Home at last.. for now.

The short, but sweet and productive, time spent home during the weekend (plus 2 dyas) was memorable and I had so much fun that I could't believe that it's over.

I didn't get a chance to come home during the holidays and so I allotted few days in Pampanga this month to be spent with my Family and some of my closest friends. Apparently, 4 days wasn't enough to accomplish lots of things.

During day 1, we had to fly from Bacolod directly to Clark (which was just in Pampanga) so I was able to save time from traveling from Manila. I had met with my Dasma/Clark friends and I had a change to meet my old agents in Clark.

It was during our day 2 that I got time to rest and it was in the afternoon that my sister arrived and we had our (expensive, but worth it) Dinner in Clark. We dine at Binulo Restaurant.

And the busiest day of all, our Day 3, which was spent in Mexico, which I got a chance to drive from Pandan to Mexico and I had time to spend with our relatives and some of my childhood friends. We had a great time as well in S&R in CIty of San Fernando. And lastly, and the saddest thing of all, I had to meet up with my sweet friend Pam, on a very short notice and over a very quick dinner in K Cafe at The Quad.

The next day, I had to fly over back to Bacolod as I have work again the next day.

Fad

I have been mum in my social medias accounts about any ongoing events, whether socio-political issues or just some controversies about famous people. I have been just silently observing some of these news that went viral through FB, IG or  Twitter. It is shocking to that some of these posts are just about common people doing regular things but in a wrong time, in a wrong place where there are people ready to capture and ready to post for public entertainment. Some are going really out of proportion.

Aside from not just interested to comment, I also do not have the bandwidth to be involved. I want to be rational as much as possible and I tried to be responsible as well in letting my opinion to be out in the open.

It was my initial intention to not engage but I just can't help but to notice how social media became so powerful that voicing out someone's opinion is becoming a trend that the once freedom of expression was literally abused and misused. Freedom of expression is a right of every individual citizens but apparently, not knowing how to use it responsibly can ensue to, but not limited to, violence.

All of a sudden, everyone becomes very opinionated and everyone suddenly becomes all self-righteous. These paved way to more bashing just to highlight on what is not within the standard, on what is uncommon or what is not "normal". But my question is, what are we trying to achieve here?

Observing the chaotic and barbaric exchange of commentaries online suddenly made me realize one thing. We make fun at the expense of others because it feels good when we know for a fact that other people are not really better than us. That there imperfections are real just like what we are. We are trying to belong to this not-so-perfect world. And it makes us feel better to know that we are not so alone after all.

2017

2017 is mostly my "Bacolod "year as I literally started my year here in Bacolod. Our flight was on the very first day of the year. We were fortunate though to spend our Holiday breaks with our families. I decided to move here again after several movements that I did in the past. This new site is technically my 4th iQor site in my (now 11 years) stay with the Company. I felt that I am up to the challenge and that I am ready for more responsibility.. at least I thought.

I have been through many places. At 17, I went to Baguio to pursue my studies. I have spent almost 5 years (1999 to 2003) then moved to the Capital, which is the Metro to pursue career. And the rest is history. And now, here I am. Bacolod is my new home! Here is a short trip to the year that was..

Overall, I had a great one. Take note, most of these pics were never published/shared through my Social media accounts.

I had a blast with 2017, though it may seem like this is more of a travel entry blog or travel a year "per se" but there were ups and downs too. It was with great pleasure to explore and to discover Negros but the main purpose of moving here is still intact. I have achieved some my goal and I will try to continue this coming year.

I may be miles away from completing my bucket list but c'est la vie!

Looking forward for the best of 2018
