I so hate the feeling of being unproductive. I mean there were days that we need to relax a bit and just let anything go of the hook. But as they say, too much of something isn’t good. It’s been days and I am not doing my job. As in I am not doing anything as of this moment. With too much obsessive compulsiveness, I don’t lavishly indulge myself into fruitless hours doing nothing but star gazing or daydreaming especially at work.
NYC
Basically, at home I find time to watch “UGLY BETTY” (it’s one of my favorite series). Sometimes I am so hooked that I was able to finish 3 episodes before going to sleep. (That was last night). The other week I was able to finish “Gossip Girl” XOXO, that I got so frustrated because the DVD that I bought somewhere, down the pedestal part of Makati, because it was not complete. And 3 weeks ago I was able to see the most anticipated movie of the year, “Sex and the City”.
They all have something in common, what else, NYC. The setting of each T.V. series revolved around the streets and events in the BIG APPLE. It’s one of the celebrated places that I want to go to, sometime. I was so fascinated with its busy streets, prominent trademarks, the most watched stage plays, its diverse culture, and most of all it is where the American dream is.
New York City is a place full of dreams. From the high-end Manhattan to the streets of Brooklyn, from the ghetto Bronx to the old folks of Queens, It is somehow influenced/s us. I, for one, since living in the Metropolis of Makati somewhat relates to the lives of the characters of these T.V. series, though there’s a huge difference. Being surrounded with New York inspired phenomenons, lifestyles, personalities, and commodities such as YELLOW CAB, BROOKLYN PIZZA, DKNY, NY FRIES, 42ND ST, HAIRSPRAY, NEW YORK BEST SELLING BOOKS, NY TIMES, CS NY, NY KNICKS, NY YANKEES, MARIAH CAREY, NAPOLIS, TIFFANY’S, HIPHOP OF BRONX, and a lot more!
And speaking of New York enthused, How can I forget the movies that moved me such as, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, KINGKONG, PHONE BOOTH, 13 GOING ON 30, HOW TO LOOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S, YOU’VE GOT MAIL, SERENDIPITY, HOME ALONE, LITTLE STUART, SPIDER-MAN, THE TERMINAL, RAISING HELEN, GANGS OF NEW YORK, ENCHANTED, 27 DRESSES, SWAT, I AM LEGEND, GODZILLA, as in so many pa..
I remember a quote from someone saying “If you were able to survive in New York, you can survive anywhere”, I say, Filipinos can survive everywhere so why not conquer the Big City.
I have been dreaming to be there, I want to be a part of it… New York, New York!
