My Bora Experience

At long last, I was able to plunge into the crystal clear water and lay along the white smooth sand of the famous BORACAY.. I had the chance to go there and took advantage of the last few days of SUMMER of '08. I was able to start it with my friends at puerto gallera on March 15-16 (as written on my blog) and ended it at the BoRa.

I heard a lot of stories about the heavenly beauty of BORA and I made a promise that I will try it myself. I've been to several places like Bohol, Vigan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and the shores of Pagudpud, Zambales, Bataan, Subic, La Union and so many others but Boracay is the best so far.....

It was also my first time to travel through plane and it was exciting...

It was a 50-minute ride from the Manila Domestic Airport to Caticlan airport and another 15 minutes ferry ride from the Airport to the Jitty sea port. It would cost you atleast 1k to transfer from port to port until you reach your hotel or resort that you will be staying. We were so fortunate to avail for the transfer package that our Hotel offered. It was less than the normal fee and we have a tour guide to assist us and it was a huge help since it's our first time to be in Boracay.

We stayed in Alta Vista de Boracay. It is a very new place in Boracay but I can say that they offer first class service and the place is very good. It is a condotel with several villas, of which some are still under construction. Every room has a bath tub (and I really have to point this one out)and a lanais with over looking view. It is, by the way, located at the ecovillage at the hill top, adjascent to Club fairways and the on-going construction of Shangri-la.

It was a 5-10 minute drive from the hotel up to the white beach. The "white beach" is
a 4 kilometer white-sand beach divided into 3 stations (and every station corresponds to every social-economic structures.. as they say). Station 1 is where you can find the high-end bars, hotels and resorts. Station is the middle, this is where you can find the ever famous D'Mall. It is the most active part of the beach since you get to find so many things to do. it is where you can get the services, such as massage, spa, diveing lessons, beach-sports/activities (snorkling, parasailing, sunset sailing, banana boating, et al). This is also where you can dine with so many restaurants and cafe's like "ARIA" and "Don Vito". It is also where the ever "Regency Hotel" is located. This is where we stayed and I have so many photos that I posted almost all on my friendster account. Station 3 is where you can have cheaper goods like souvenire items and delectable but cheap food. It is also the most crowded since it is where the residencial part of the Island is located.

We were also able to go to "PUKA BEACH" despite of it's privacy. With the help of our Hotel assistants, we were able to stay there for a couple of hours. That's where I was able to obtain my "TAN" that I've wanted to achieve for years.

Buffets Coffees, Smoothies, Sun bathing, Sunset sailing, Shopping, walking, and all that stuff... there's so many things to enjoy during the stay. I can't even upload
all of my pics on my blog because they're so many. I wanted to share almost all of the things I did during my 4-day and 3-night stay but Time is really rinnning out...

till then.
