Next week might no longer be lucky for Paris.

I would like to share what I've encounter this morning with a cab driver on my way home from work. I don't have any change for P500 and when I'm about to go home, I've decided to look for a cab who will be changing my money. It's 8 in the morning and drivers usually don't have available smaller bills. So everytime a cab pass by, I ask them first if they have a change with 500 and if they don't I 'll go and look for another one. I'm just trying my luck though I know that it is really not possible with that early.
Suddenly, a white motorolla cab from "AVIS" stopped by and I asked if he has a change, he said he doesn't but he will just gonna stop by a gasoline station so he can use the money to refill his gas tank. I felt relieved, but what made me more easy was his comment. "Ang bait mo naman, tinatanong mo muna kung may palit ako, ung iba kasi sasakay na lang basta tsaka magbabayad ng buo". I was stunned and all I said was "kasi ho ung iba ayaw magpasakay kung buo ang pera".
we drove our way to edsa and he initiate a small talk every now and then. I find him very polite. It is not everyday that we encounter courteous taxi drivers. But aside from his friendly aura and his rappport, when I'm about to go down from his cab, he smiled and said, "o sige po sir, pahinga na po kayo.." I replied with "salamat po" and I step down from the cab.
What really hit me is that I'm working as a customer service but sometimes I do fail to perform my duty. I sometimes care less with customers who just complain every single day with the service we offer. But the cab driver opened my eyes that being polite would not ask too much. It would not demand great effort. Our mood for the day will depend on how we started it. what he did changes my perception about small things.
