Mariah Carey has once again reigned supreme for winning 3 awards from the recent Grammy Awards held on Feb. 8, 2006. Her album "The Emancipation of MIMI" swept 3 grammys. The Queen was nominated for 8 awards which includes "Album of the year", "Song of the Year" for"We belong together" and "Best Female-pop vocal"

The Queen took home "Best Contemporary R&B Album", "Best R&B Song (We Belong Together)" and "Best Female r&b vocal performance".

The album sold more than 7 Million copies worldwide. Her Single "We Belong together" spent 14 weeks at the top of the US chart. Currently, Mimi has has a total of 17 number 1 singles at the Bilboard. She is also expecting to tie with Elvis Prestley and The Beatles for artist with most number 1 singles in the Billboard Chart!

I've heard this morning that Mariah was supposed to open the said Awars show with her operatic rendition of "We Belong Together". But apparently, according to the news, Madonna appealed to the organizers that she should perform as an opening act, she threatened the organizers that if she will not be given that opportunity, she will not perform that night at all.
Well, for me, Mariah don't have to do the opening anyway, her performance was superb and she recieved too much attention and needs to show everyone whats she got. She's well aware that being "premadonna" would never do wonder for her soaring carreer. What a humble queen...
